‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2’ Reveals Entire Soundtrack

Graphics and Gameplay might have a lot to do with the ‘Buying Power’ of a video game; but it’s often the Soundtrack that has the most to do with its ‘Staying Power’. I’ve played games that have had great stories, terrible stories or no story at all; but it’s often the soundtrack that will have one of the longest lasting impacts on me. The moment you hear one of those tracks, you’re immediately transported back!

That’s why a game’s music is often the most important part when it comes to the ‘nostalgia’ factor. Though when it comes to Remasters, it’s not just about bringing back/ revitalizing the original tracks, but also adding new tracks that can one day become nostalgic gems in their own right! And judging by the Virtual Reveal Concert that Noisey and Activision just held for the remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, they’ve managed to check both of those boxes off!

When Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 was initially announced we were told that almost all of the original tracks would be returning; but we didn’t have any specifics – nor any details on how many new tracks would be added. Now we have the entire set list of both the returning and new artists that will be featured.

Returning Artists:
Anthrax, Bad Religion,  Consumed, Dead Kennedys, Dub Pistols, Even Rude, Fu Manchu, Goldfinger, Lagwagon, Millencolin, Naughty by Nature, Papa Roach, Powerman 5000, Primus, Rage Against the Machine, Speedealer, Styles of Beyond, Suicidal Tendencies, Swingin’ Utters, The Ernies, The Suicide Machines, The Vandals

New Artists:
A Tribe Called Quest, A. Swayze & the Ghosts, Alex Lahey, All Talk, American Nightmare, Backchat, Baker Boy, Billy Talent, Black Prez ft. Kid Something, CHAII, Charlie Brown Jr., Cherry Kola, Chick Norris, Craig Craig ft. Icy Black, Crush Effect ft. KARRA, Destroy Boys, DZ Deathrays, FIDLAR, JunkBunny, Less Than Jake, Machine Gun Kelly, Merkules, MxPx, Pkew Pkew Pkew, Reel Big Fish, Rough Francis, Screaming Females, Skepta, Spilt Milk, Strung Out, Sublime, The Ataris, The Super Best Frens Club, Token, Tyrone Briggs, Viagra Boys, Zebrahead

Though there was more to this concert than just music! In addition to seeing Rough Francis, CHAII, Merkules and Machine Gun Kelly all perform their new songs, we also got to see – and listen to – some commentary from veteran skaters like Bob Burnquist and Kareem Campbell as well as some newcomers to the Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise like Lizzy Armanato and Leo Baker!

As I explored in my last article, the Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise has had a tremendous impact on the skating community! And seeing how many wonderfully talented people – both new and old – are contributing their own flare/ style to this game is incredible! Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 (Remaster) is set to be released September 4th, 2020 on PS4, Xbox One & PC.
