If you’re going to remake not one but two games in a series that defined a generation and culture, you’d better make sure it lives up to expectations. And if it does, the rest will take care of itself. Well here we are, barely two weeks after the release of Tony Hawk’s Pro-Skater 1 + 2 and it has already crushed the ‘1 million units sold’ milestone – making it the fastest selling game in the entire franchise!

After the success they’ve had with reviving old fan favorite series like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon and now Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, I think it’s safe to say that Activision has truly found their winning formula! And thankfully with developers like Vicarious Visions, Toys for Bob and Beenox on the team, these franchises are getting the love they deserve with each iteration!
As for what’s next, we’ll have to wait and see. Will new skate parks and secret characters be added via DLC similar to what we got in Crash Team Racing? Will we see our favorite Bandicoot and purple dragon pull off some gnarly tricks? Or does the success of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 open the door for a full on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 remake? Personally, my money’s on both; but only time will tell!
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. And if you’re still on the fence, check out our Full Review here!
