We’re about a week or so away from the September 4th release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2; and considering this is a Remaster, some might assume that was it. In past weeks we’ve heard about the new Skaters as well as the new and returning music that will be added; but there’s still a few details we’ve yet to actually see. Multiplayer and Create-A-Park are two such items that have been teased, but little’s actually been shared about them. Further more, one of the best parts of a Remaster is seeing how old fan-favorite levels have been redesigned.

Well, we just got the official launch trailer for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 and it not only hypes us up even more for the game’s release; but also answers a lot of our lingering questions – while also giving us one new question!

We get a bunch of addition looks at some levels we’ve already seen – though to be honest, I never get tired of seeing the warehouse level. Though it was our first look at Chopper Drop, Burnside and Roswell that really got me hyped. Chopper Drop was a great way to kick off this trailer due to its insane verticality and as for Roswell… well, I’ll save my thoughts on Roswell for later. But seeing how much life/ atmosphere is put into these parks continues to be one of my favorite things. Burnside in particular has a really calming vibe to it. Empty warehouse at night in the middle of a rainstorm? That’s is a mood! On the other hand, it looks like the bull in aptly named Bullring is back… and so is my PTSD.

We also get a look at some multiplayer; but we still need more information on how exactly that will work. Judging by the trailer, I’m assuming it’s for 2-players; but there could be additional game modes that up that number. Though I’m hesitant to expect more than 2 on simple competitions because at a certain point I imagine people running into each other… unless ‘sabotaging others’ is actually a strategy or full on game mode. Again, all that is hypothetical right now. All we know for sure right now is that there is online multiplayer and you can play it on levels such as the Mall.

Create-Everything – Build the Park or Skater of your Dreams:

Create-A-Park isn’t really anything new. We’ve seen it before to varying levels of success. But what this trailer just showed off in terms of Create-A-Park is incredible! The massive ramps and universe skybox makes this feel more like a rainbow road racing track than a skate level. If this is what the trailer hints at, I can’t wait to see what players come up with on their own. With so many options for verticality as well as what appears to be the ability to select you own skybox/ level boundaries, the sky is literally the limit here.

Additionally, we also got a quick glimpse at some Create-A-Skaters, which as the name suggests allows you to create a ‘Pro Skater’ of your very own! A more dedicated look at this was teased on Instagram/ Twitter/ Facebook. It’s by no means a complete look, but it definitely shows off a nice set of customization options. I wouldn’t be surprised if more options unlock through completing challenges – but again, that is just a personal theory right now. That being said though, it has been confirmed that there will be no microtransactions in this game. So if there are more skins/ customizations to unlock, challenges would be the way to go.

Our 1st Secret/ Unlockable Character?

Seeing the Roswell level remastered was a wonderful treat; but the camera focus on the alien there has me thinking. On one hand, this could be a simple cut to show how much attention has been put into the remastering the game. On the other, could this focus – and glimpse at a personality – mean that we also have a glimpse at our first Secret Character? This could be a major shot in the dark; but given the THPS’s affinity for secret characters, I wouldn’t be surprised if this alien becomes a bonus character.
