Schitt's Creek: Dear Class Of 2020

Our favorite Rose family and the folks of Schitt’s Creek came back together to celebrate teachers by participating in Barack and Michelle Obama’s Dear Class of 2020 that streamed on Sunday, June 7. Although the six-season series only recently ended in April 2020, it feels like a lifetime, and I thoroughly enjoyed this moment!

Moira (Catherine O’Hara) kicks off the segment while David (Dan Levy) struggles with his audio, and Johnny (Eugene Levy) and Alexis (Annie Murphy) dutifully stand ready to begin. Patrick Brewer (Noah Reid), Stevie Budd (Emily Hampshire), the Jazza gals Twyla Sands (Sarah Levy), Jocelyn Schitt (Jennifer Robertson), Ronnie Lee (Karen Robinson), and Ray Butani (Rizwan Manji) join in on the fun as well.

In a song selected by David, the cast sing a beautiful rendition of “Hero” by one of David’s favorite artist, Mariah Carey. Patrick leads as the rest of the group harmonizes. Towards the end of their song, Carey, crashes their performance, and while everyone continues to sing, David is visibly in shock.

After Carey’s special message to the teachers and Class of 2020, her impromptu serenade to David causes him to completely lose his composure and fall off his chair as he proclaims, “I love you!”
