It’s about damn time we were given a worthwhile LGBTQ+ storyline on the Hallmark channel… The hit series Good Witch just kicked off a new and exciting same-sex romance between Joy (played by Kat Barrell) and Zoey (played by Kyana Teresa). Yes, you read that right. The budding romance between Joy and firefighter Zoey is without a doubt heating up– I mean, it’s a slow burn for sure, but we are totally here for it! Kat Barrell, who is a queer icon in her own right, welcomes newcomer Kyana Teresa into the LGBTQ+ character fold and we’re here to get all the deets on this charming, yet guarded new character Hallmark has bestowed upon us.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Kyana about her pivotal role on Good Witch, and the responsibility she must feel while breaking these barriers on the Hallmark Channel.
