Maintaining a long-standing presence in the gaming world, stretching back to 1992, Mortal Kombat has withstood the test of time.

Originally developed as an arcade fighting game by Midway, Mortal Kombat’s reign has continued to birth sequel after sequel, the latest, Mortal Kombat 11 in 2019.

The gaming series has also spawned the 1995 film, Mortal Kombat, and 1997’s Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.

In 2021 comes Warner Bros. martial art fantasy action film, Mortal Kombat, directed by Simon McQuoid and produced by James Wan. The film follows MMA fighter, Cole Young (Lewis Tan), as he learns of his heritage after he is hunted by Sub-Zero (Joe Taslim), a deadly warrior who possess the ability to control ice. To save his family, and the universe, Cole trains with Liu Kang (Ludi Lin), Kung Lao (Max Huang), and Kano (Josh Lawson) to battle Sub-Zero and the enemies of the Outworld.

Movie buffs and gamers alike, including myself, are eager to see if the film will live up to the hype and following the series has enticed.
